Lastovo
Lastovo is a green island immersed in the blue of the Adriatic Sea, set in a row of 45 rocks in southern Dalmatia. The place of the same name on the island, which is amphitheatrically located on mountain slopes above a fertile field, is known for its imaginative chimneys, the preserved national costumes and its magnificent carnival.
Lastovo Island was miraculously spared from industrial civilization and the entire archipelago of Lastovo was declared a nature park.
Why Lastovo is a Must Visit Island on Your Croatia Cruise Vacation
The town of Lastovo on the eponymous island exemplifies in a different way the long traditions of urban life in the Mediterranean. It is situated on the slopes of a gently ascending hill, so that for centuries houses had been built close together.
The available space was utilized in an optimal fashion, so that each succeeding house rises above others, and has its own view, sun, and air. Numerous surrounding islets set in a deep blue sea provide an additional charm of Lastovo, especially for boaters.
The festival of modern music (jazz, blues, rock, punk, soul, hip-hop …) has established itself as one of the most interesting summer events on the Adriatic in recent years.
Lastovo is the ideal choice for those who love and appreciate the untouched nature, the crystal clear sea, secluded bays, an enchanting underwater world, original gastronomic delights, for a complete relaxation of mind and body.
