Milna
Milna is a beautiful coastal town located on the island of Brač in Croatia. Being the largest populated town on the island of Brač, Milna is consisted of 5 settlements: Milna, Podhume, Ložišća, Bobovisca na moru and Bobovisca. According to the 2011 population census, there are about 1000 residents in Milna.
During the past, the town was developed in the 16th century and was until the 2nd century the most important maritime port on the island of Brač. Milna economy is mailnly based on the tourism, agriculture (olive oil) and fish industriy. Its very interesting to note that in Milna exisited a famous shipyard – with 16 sailing boats built in it.
These big sailing boats are called “Bracere” – from the Italian name of the island of Brač.
